“One idea Lights a Thousand Candles”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
Hi! Thank you for visiting the One Big Idea Blog! Welcome!
So, here’s the plan: I’ll share One Big Idea per post – an idea that may be (at least partly?) original, or an idea that has been somehow useful, possibly transformational in my experience, or even an idea that should have been better applied but wasn’t.
This is a personal project, an attempt to share something of value that could be useful to you whether you are young and starting to shape your life, or older and looking to a productive retirement or a second or third act. My aim is to write these posts in a way that makes them relatable and relevant to as many people as possible across borders, cultures, demographics…in short, as neutrally and inclusively as I can.
Please call me out if I fail to do this; even better, let’s have a lively debate and exchange of views on these posts to enhance their value, improve their reach and magnify their effect.
Wit? Humour? Gravitas worthy of some of the themes we will explore together? Bring it on! Practical life experience? Academically robust argument? Questions and points of debate on a topic that may be new to you? Again – bring it on, let’s have some fun, and let’s have a positive impact together.
As this blog develops, evolves and gains a readership of more than three people, it would be very interesting to invite guest posts. If you have One Big Idea that you would like to share with us, please connect with me through our Contact Page to express your interest, and we can then explore further together. Thank you!
I hope each Big Idea lights at least a thousand candles.
